About Radiopolis

What is Radiopolis?
A serial comic strip mixing pulp adventure, hard-boiled mystery and a pinch of science fiction. Nathan calls it "technoir," or "William Gibson's Terry and the Pirates." It is brought to you with help from the hosting folks at DreamHost.

Who are the Alderman Bros.?
Jason Alderman, the older brother, draws, colors and letters Radiopolis.

Nathan Alderman, the younger brother, writes Radiopolis, and designed and built this Web site.

Haven't I seen this comic somewhere before?
Radiopolis initially ran on ModernTales.com for about a year, starting in April 2002.

Why did you leave ModernTales?
Short answer: heinous scheduling problems. We both felt it wasn't fair to take up a slot on ModernTales if we couldn't actually produce a comic to fill it, and graciously bowed out. We also figured it would be easier in our case to build an audience if our readers didn't have to pay to read our archives. We remain grateful to MT head honcho Joey Manley for giving us a shot in the first place.

Why is there so much talking and so little action in the early chapters?
Nathan has a lot to learn about pacing. But he's getting there. Your patience is appreciated.

"Tubes"? "Electro-controlled"? What's going on here?
Radiopolis is set in 1947-- but, despite the fact that we've both done a fair bit of historical and scientific research, it's not necessarily the 1947 we know from the history books. Keep reading.

Are you really raising money for the Red Cross?
Yes, we are. You don't have to donate, but if you like the strip and want to help a good cause, check out our charity page. We don't collect the money-- we just link to the Red Cross's online donation site.
